FiberQ Designer

A browser-first companion to FiberQ for QGIS — focused on the operational side of fiber network workflows.

FiberQ Designer is currently in active development as a web application built to extend the FiberQ ecosystem beyond GIS-based design into day-to-day operational work.

While FiberQ for QGIS remains the core design environment, FiberQ Designer is being developed as a faster, more accessible and more collaborative workflow layer for teams working with fiber network structure, tracing, splicing and documentation.

What FiberQ Designer is for

Operational fiber workflows

Built for the part of fiber work that continues after or alongside map design — where teams need clearer structure, visibility and practical day-to-day tools.

Browser-first access

Designed to open quickly, support collaboration more naturally and make important workflows easier to reach without a desktop GIS session.

Connected with FiberQ for QGIS

FiberQ Designer is being developed to complement the QGIS plugin, not replace it — with both tools forming one practical workflow.

Current direction

The current direction for FiberQ Designer is a browser-first workflow layer focused on operational visibility, fiber tracing, structured documentation and workflows that are easier to share across teams.

  • Browser-first workflow
  • Operational fiber visibility
  • Structured network documentation
  • Splicing and tracing workflows
  • Generated diagrams and deliverables
  • Built to work alongside FiberQ for QGIS

Why it matters

Many teams can design networks, but operational clarity is often where things become harder: tracing fibers, understanding structure, preparing clean documentation and sharing usable information across planning, engineering and field workflows.

FiberQ Designer is being built to reduce that gap and make the operational side of fiber work more visible, structured and practical.

In development

FiberQ Designer is still evolving. More detailed workflow information, screenshots and updates will be shared as development progresses.

Focus: practical workflows, clean interoperability and a better day-to-day operational experience.
